21st Century Learning
The learners of the 21st century or the millennial learner is the first generation to have grown up with technology at their fingertips. Many of these students are visual and interpersonal learners due to the vast amounts of television and other technologies they have learned and communicated with. The progress of technology is not slowing down. This generation continues adapting to new modes of communication and innovation. Their world is one of constant change. Schools must adapt to this new type of learner or modern education is going to be left behind. Many of the jobs our students will take as adults have not even been created yet. It is important that we look for new ways to interest our students in the content we are teaching. As I have mentioned on other pages the standards are changing the way we have to do business in public education. Education is moving towards a more constructivist approach.
